The Creation of the Heavens and All Realms

Chapter 13: The Indestructible Spiritual Light of Chaos

Normally, a person’s Spirit Platform contains nothing but the Primordial Spirit. The Spirit Platform itself is nothingness; its very existence is nothingness. It is neither time nor space, neither matter nor consciousness—it simply cannot contain anything. However, Zhou Tianci had indeed “seen” that Seed on his Spirit Platform—the very Seed he had discovered before the universe’s destruction! Because of this, Zhou Tianci checked several times, but the fact remained: the seed was right there! “There’s no mistake, no mistake at all. This seed, along with that beam of light and the scene of the Great Cosmic Cataclysm, is etched deep in my heart. No matter how much time passes, I could never forget it.” The seed’s appearance stirred Zhou Tianci’s memories of the Great Cosmic Cataclysm and that beam of light that spanned the galaxy. He could confirm that a seed had truly appeared on his spiritual platform. “Could this be the reason I was transported to another world?” Zhou Tianci quickly recalled the final scene before his transition, his heart trembling with shock. At the same time, his curiosity about this seed grew even stronger. To have traveled with him to another world during the universe’s collapse and hidden within his spiritual platform—could this possibly be an ordinary seed? Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence slowly approached the seed. Within the realm of his spiritual platform, he could sense the immense power it contained. This power was extremely subdued, yet when facing it, Zhou Tianci felt as though he were gazing upon the vast expanse of the cosmos. The moment Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence made contact with the seed, another strange phenomenon occurred! Before Zhou Tianci had time to think, his entire being plunged into boundless darkness, and his spiritual essence’s perception was stripped away by some unknown force. By the time he regained control of his spiritual essence, it had already entered the seed’s interior. If anyone had burst into Zhou Tianci’s room at that moment, they would have found his physical body completely devoid of life—in other words, he was dead! “So this is actually the inside of the seed—how wondrous.” At that moment, Zhou Tianci felt no fear; only boundless curiosity about the seed. This seed spanned his two lifetimes and held the secrets behind the destruction of the universe in his previous life and his journey to this one—it held immense significance for him. Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence wandered within the seed. After an unknown amount of time, he came upon a massive tree. To call it a “giant tree” was truly an apt description, for it was so immense that it stretched from the heavens to the earth. Its canopy covered an area of unknown extent, and its massive trunk was adorned with countless branches that formed an endless forest. Every leaf on the tree was clearly visible, and hidden beneath them were 3,000 fruits. “How could there be a tree here? What kind of tree is this?” Zhou Tianci was utterly astonished, but after a moment’s thought, he no longer found it strange. Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence drifted closer to the giant tree; he sensed its call within his heart. Before he knew it, his spiritual essence had already touched the tree’s main trunk. The inner world of the seed underwent a sudden transformation. The infinitely vast tree shattered, turning into specks of starlight that merged into Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence. At the same time, his spiritual essence grew stronger and stronger. Zhou Tianci could feel that he possessed boundless power; it seemed that with a single wave of his hand or a stomp of his foot, he could cause mountains to crumble, the earth to split, and the heavens and earth to turn upside down. As the great tree merged with him and Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence expanded, he felt the heavens and earth growing ever smaller, trapping him like a cage. An inexplicable rage welled up within Zhou Tianci; he let out a furious roar and struck forward with both fists with all his might—shattering the heavens and earth! “Is this what they call the creation of heaven and earth in myth and legend?” Zhou Tianci stood frozen in astonishment. His spiritual essence had broken through the barriers and entered a new world—his own Spirit Platform Realm. Zhou Tianci wanted to fully experience the power of creating heaven and earth that he had acquired so inexplicably, but he no longer had the chance. Upon returning to his Spirit Platform Realm, his spiritual essence instantly reverted to its original form, and the seed on his Spirit Platform vanished, replaced by a sapling about one inch tall. The sapling had neither roots nor stems, nor branches or leaves, yet it radiated vibrant vitality. Once Zhou Tianci’s spiritual essence had returned to his spiritual platform, his physical body also regained its vitality. At midnight, Zhou Tianci finally opened his eyes. The moment he did, two streaks of golden light flashed in the dark room, only to vanish just as quickly. “The greatest misfortune in the world is also the greatest fortune; when things reach their extreme, they reverse—and so it is,” Zhou Tianci murmured to himself. He now finally understood the cause and effect of his journey through time. Having come to this realization, Zhou Tianci alternated between weeping and laughing uncontrollably, and it took him more than half an hour to calm down. “I never imagined the world to be like this.” ” Recalling the information he’d received from the seed, Zhou Tianci’s eyes betrayed a sense of world-weariness. “Endless time, endless space—both time and space are boundless. Yet the world is but a single wave in the vast river of spacetime, subject to birth and destruction. Just like the universe of my past life: though it seemed vast and infinite to humanity, it was, in the grand scheme of spacetime, incredibly tiny.” “There are many reasons for the destruction of a world, but they all boil down to internal or external factors. The cosmic collapse I experienced in my past life was caused by an external force. I just never imagined that the light that caused the universe’s destruction would have such a profound origin…” At this thought, Zhou Tianci couldn’t help but feel overwhelming elation. “The Chaos Indestructible Spiritual Light—that is the Chaos Indestructible Spiritual Light condensed from the primordial chaos of the Tian Dao world, containing the Three Thousand Laws of the Tian Dao. To think I’ve actually obtained such a treasure—I’ve inherited the legacy of the entire primordial chaos!” Zhou Tianci couldn’t help but be thrilled; the origins of that light were simply too profound. Known as the Chaos Indestructible Spiritual Light, it was condensed after the shattering of the Primordial Chaos—a grand world of the Tian Dao level—and contained the three thousand complete laws of that world, granting one immortality and indestructibility! Zhou Tianci was no stranger to the Primordial Chaos; it was the mythical world of ancient Eastern legends—a supreme realm and the world that countless cultivators dreamed of. Zhou Tianci was astonished both by its existence and by its destruction. Realizing he had received such a stroke of good fortune, even with Zhou Tianci’s composure, it wasn’t until late into the night that his emotions finally settled. Once his mind and spirit had stabilized, Zhou Tianci began slowly sifting through the information. It was too staggering and vast; though he had accepted it, he couldn’t process it all in such a short time. If his Primordial Spirit hadn’t fused with that strange sapling, he would have long since been overwhelmed and shattered by the torrent of information. The night passed in this manner, and when the sun rose the next day, Zhou Tianci, like the rest of the Blood Battle Legion, went out for drill training. Such training continued steadily, but since the legion had only recently been formed, it was not yet combat-ready. As the new battalion commander of the Blood Battle Legion, Zhou Tianci commanded a force of 200 men. Following tradition, he led his men to the training ground near the southeast for drills. After nearly a week, Zhou Tianci had grown familiar with his men, and the effectiveness of their training had improved significantly. Training in this world was not merely a matter of marching in formation or simple coordination among soldiers; rather, it required soldiers to fuse martial arts techniques, combat moves, and fighting spirit into a single entity, integrating individual strength into the collective to form the legion’s unique “military aura.” Once this military aura was gathered, under the commander’s control, it could unleash tremendous destructive power. Of course, more military aura isn’t necessarily better; if there is too much, it becomes difficult to control, and its power actually diminishes. Generally speaking, 5,000 soldiers is the optimal number, which is why elite legions consist of only 5,000 men. To gather military aura, the soldiers’ rapport and coordination are crucial—and this is currently the primary focus of Zhou Tianci and his men’s training. “Captain, have you heard? The Commander is going to hold a drill in a couple of days,” Qi Shan, one of Zhou Tianci’s squad leaders, said with a smile. “This drill will be conducted at the battalion level, and the Commander is taking it very seriously.” Zhou Tianci glanced at Qi Shan. He had a total of five squad leaders under his command; four had been transferred from other legions, while only Qi Shan’s background remained a mystery. Zhou Tianci had always remained wary of this enigmatic subordinate. “Oh, I hadn’t heard that yet—how did you find out?” Zhou Tianci replied noncommittally. Qi Shan smiled nonchalantly. “Just a coincidence. The news will spread soon enough. You should seize this opportunity, Battalion Commander. With your peak Post-Heaven cultivation, you’re more than qualified to be a Captain. Who knows—this exercise might catch the Commander’s eye, and he might promote you on the spot.” A sharp gleam flashed in Zhou Tianci’s eyes. After yesterday’s cultivation, he had indeed reached the peak of the Posthuman Realm. As for the Pre-Heaven Realm, he was still a bit short of it. The Pre-Heaven Realm required not only turning one’s spiritual sense inward to sense the Spirit Platform but also generating True Qi and channeling it like a dragon—something he had not yet achieved. “The squad leader has reached the peak of the Post-Heaven realm? Congratulations!” Upon hearing this, the other four squad leaders sensed Zhou Tianci’s aura—which they felt was significantly stronger than yesterday’s—and instinctively clasped their hands in respect. Zhou Tianci replied noncommittally, “Just a momentary insight.” Zhou Tianci had no particular fondness for these five subordinates of his, and conversely, they felt the same toward him. The reorganization of the Blood Battle Legion was a major event, especially regarding officer positions—who knew how many people had their eyes on them? Zhou Tianci’s ascension to the position of squadron commander naturally made some people uncomfortable. Coupled with the fact that he had no power or influence, came from a commoner background, and was the sole survivor of the original Blood Battle Legion, there were even more who had it in for him. Zhou Tianci still remembered how, on his very first day in office, someone had tried to intimidate him right off the bat. “How could sparrows possibly understand the ambitions of a swan? Let you lot fight over the positions of battalion commander and captain—I’ll be leaving here soon enough.” Zhou Tianci thought disdainfully as he cast a cold glance at his five subordinates. Even before obtaining the Chaos Indestructible Spiritual Light, he had already decided on his plan to leave; now that he had seized this opportunity to defy the heavens, Zhou Tianci held even less regard for a petty place like the City of Tears and Blood.
