The Heir to the Seven Killers in the City

Chapter 4: The First Killing

After all, Jiang Rongrong and Qin Yu had been in a relationship for some time. By chance, Qin Yu had learned the account and password for Jiang Rongrong’s i Phone, so using the “Find My i Phone” feature, he was able to pinpoint her location. Qin Yu was now standing at the base of an apartment building in the Fuhua Residential Complex. He knew Jiang Rongrong was inside that building, though he didn’t know which floor she was on. But that was easy enough. Qin Yu ordered takeout and used Jiang Rongrong’s phone number as the recipient. When placing the order, he specified the residential complex and apartment building where he was currently standing—though, of course, he made up the floor number and apartment number. It wasn’t long before Qin Yu saw the delivery guy arrive at the bottom of the building. Qin Yu waited in the shadows for the delivery guy to come out. As soon as the delivery guy stepped out of the apartment building, Qin Yu stopped him: “Hey, buddy.” The delivery guy looked at Qin Yu with some confusion: “What’s up?” Qin Yu smiled and handed him a cigarette: “Which floor and which room was that delivery for just now?” The delivery guy immediately grew wary: “What are you up to, man? Our company has rules…” A pink bill was slipped into the delivery guy’s palm: “Do me a favor—that woman is my girlfriend…” The delivery guy’s face lit up with a look of realization: “I get it!” With a look of empathy on his face, the delivery guy didn’t hesitate to tell Qin Yu the floor and room number he’d just delivered to. Finally, he patted Qin Yu on the shoulder: “Bro, there are plenty of fish in the sea—why fixate on just one? That kind of girl isn’t right for you. Don’t act on impulse!” Hopping on his electric scooter, the delivery guy hummed a tune as he sped off: “Falling in love with a wild horse, your head is full of grasslands…” Qin Yu’s face fell, and he gritted his teeth as he stepped into the elevator. Wang Chuanyong and Jiang Rongrong looked at the pizza on the table with some confusion. Wang Chuanyong, in his forties, had quite a commanding presence; at the very least, if he put on a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, he could easily pass for a college professor. It was precisely thanks to his good looks and silver tongue that he’d risen to become the leader of a pyramid scheme. Originally just an ordinary guy who’d nearly jumped off a building after losing everything in the stock market, Wang Chuanyong had spent several years running the scheme—not only swindling a lot of money but also sleeping with plenty of women. However, he was genuinely fascinated by Jiang Rongrong. This woman knew exactly how to please a man; sure, she was a bit greedy, but so what? “Rongrong, aren’t you trying to lose weight lately? Why are you ordering pizza for a late-night snack?” Wang Chuanyong asked Jiang Rongrong. Jiang Rongrong was puzzled: “Huh, didn’t you order it? I was just wondering how you knew I liked this flavor of pizza.” Wang Chuanyong froze. “You didn’t order it?” Jiang Rongrong shook her head. The two exchanged glances, and a chill crept into their hearts: “Then who did…” A cold voice rang out beside them: “It was me!” Wang Chuanyong and Jiang Rongrong turned around at the same time and saw that someone had appeared in the living room out of nowhere. The moment she saw this person’s face, Jiang Rongrong almost screamed! Wang Chuanyong’s vision blurred for a moment—Jiang Rongrong had already been grabbed by the throat and lifted off the ground with one hand by Qin Yu. The man who had been whispering sweet nothings in bed just moments ago instinctively tried to run, but before he could take two steps, Qin Yu kicked him to the ground. The two motionless figures on the living room floor stared in terror at Qin Yu, who stood there expressionless. Jiang Rongrong’s tears flowed uncontrollably, but she couldn’t utter a single word—Qin Yu had already sealed her speech acupoint. Thanks to the trace of killing intent left on Qin Yu by that cold, sharp voice, he had already achieved a basic level of mastery in some of the techniques from the *Seven Kills Sutra* over the past few days—and acupoint sealing was one of those skills. Qin Yu hadn’t sealed Wang Chuanyong’s speech acupoint, and he pleaded hoarsely, “Spare my life! I’ll give you anything you want. Do you want money? I’ll give you money—I have plenty of it!” Qin Yu replied coldly, “I don’t want money. I want to hear about the evil deeds you’ve committed. Can you satisfy my curiosity?” Wang Chuanyong cried out, “No, no, I haven’t done anything wrong! It’s a misunderstanding—this is all a misunderstanding! Spare my life…”A faint, cold smile played at the corner of Qin Yu’s mouth. Suddenly, he reached out and tapped Wang Chuanyong twice. Wang Chuanyong immediately let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered. Seeing this, Qin Yu quickly reached out and dislocated his jaw—first, to prevent Wang Chuanyong’s screams from alerting the neighbors, and second, to stop the man from biting his tongue in agony and killing himself. The two taps Qin Yu delivered to Wang Chuanyong’s body were a technique described in the *Seven Kills Sutra* called “Searching the Meridians and Severing the Vessels.” When used on a human, this technique was far more brutal than even the cruelest form of torture. Just imagine what it would feel like to have every meridian in your body constantly contracting! Wang Chuanyong, a man accustomed to a life of luxury and privilege, could never endure such treatment. He didn’t even last ten seconds before spilling the beans on every misdeed he’d ever committed. As Qin Yu sat there listening to him confess all his evil deeds, his expression grew increasingly grim. Although Qin Yu knew Wang Chuanyong was certainly no good, he never imagined the man could be this depraved. The saying “pus oozing from the head, sores sprouting from the feet” perfectly describes someone like this. It would have been bad enough if he’d merely used pyramid scheme tactics to swindle people out of their money, but among those he’d deceived, there were some who came to their senses and tried to break free. Wang Chuanyong would then order the thugs he kept on the payroll to brutally beat these victims—and Qin Yu was by no means the only one beaten to death. The only reason Wang Chuanyong’s crimes haven’t been exposed yet is that most of his pyramid scheme targets were people from out of town. Those he killed died far from home, and their families still believe they’re working away from home! In addition to causing deaths, Wang Chuanyong also wantonly humiliated the women among his pyramid scheme “trainees.” He had deceived and forcibly had sexual relations with as many as a dozen women. At first, Qin Yu could still bear to listen, but as he heard more, his anger grew until he finally slapped Wang Chuanyong across the head. The power of the “Seven Kills Palm” penetrated to the bone, instantly reducing the brain of this utterly depraved scum to a pulp—he was as dead as could be. Having killed Wang Chuanyong with a single strike, Qin Yu’s heart gave a sudden jolt. After all, he had originally been just an ordinary teenager; it was impossible for him not to feel some turmoil in his heart after taking a life with his own hands. However, his attention was immediately drawn to the changes occurring within his own body. At the very moment he killed Wang Chuanyong, an indescribable energy flowed from Wang’s body into Qin Yu’s. Qin Yu clearly sensed that the tiny spark within him—born from his cultivation of the *Seven Slayings Sutra*—seemed to have grown ever so slightly. It was an unmistakable sensation.
